EU R&D Team and the Services We Provide

European R&D support at Bar Ilan University

Bar-Ilan researchers have access to in-house support for submitting proposals to Horizon Europe, and for managing the grants received.
The team brings extensive experience and unique expertise in grant writing, project management, consulting, and research partnerships.
Use of external consultants when additional/complementary support is needed.

Proposal initiation – Should be at least 4 months before submission. Contact the EU Desk for initial discussions well in advance!
Feasibility check – Discussion of the project idea and status vs. the call topic selected, to judge its competitiveness and suitability.
Partner search – Connection to partner search tools, facilitation of communication/meetings, distribution of search requirements etc.
Establishment of consortium – Letter of Intent, gathering of admin input etc.
Proposal preparation – guidance, writing support, quality review etc.
Budget preparation – supported and approved by financial team
Completion of EC portal forms & submission
Support to project management – when BIU is coordinating

	Estelle Waise Unit Head \| EU R&D Programs Updates researchers on EU funding opportunities, rules and eligibility criteria; assists researchers in finding relevant funding opportunities (including ERC and MSCA); provides assistance with proposal submission, grant preparation and project management; organizes info days on calls for proposals and proposal writing.
	Natalie Gordon Collaborative Research Manager \| EU R&D Programs Assists with consortia search/collaboration opportunities for researchers to join; if necessary, assists researchers in finding partners in grant preparation, assists researchers in finding relevant funding opportunities, prepares EU calls for publishing, organizes info days and meetings, updates researchers on the forthcoming relevant events/ calls information.
	Katie Bleiberg Project Manager and Grant Consultant Assisting researchers who are coordinating Horizon Europe proposals with the proposal preparation process in terms of writing content and editing, and other means of support as needed.
	Anna Madar Coordinator of European project activities Assisting researchers in finding relevant Horizon Europe calls that fit with their field of research and provide support from the initial stages of project initiation and establishment of partnerships throughout the proposal preparation process. Anna will furthermore assist with managing EU funded projects, especially when Bar Ilan is coordinating.
