Budget Increase for Israeli PIs in the NSF-BSF Programs

The BSF is happy to announce an increase in the budget for the Israeli PIs in NSF-BSF joint applications.

BSF will raise the budget for experimental work from 330,000 NIS per year to 400,000 NIS per year and for theoretical/computer-based work from 270,000 NIS per year to 330,000 NIS per year. If more than one lab will be involved in the research they will able to request up to 150% of the budget. These sums are subject to the availability of funds.

This increase is in order to maintain the program's competitive nature and prevent the diminution of grant amounts due to inflation and fluctuations in the dollar's value over the years.

Note that the BSF website works only in US currency and that we set the maximum award money for experimental work to $114,000/year and for theoretical/computer-based work to $94,000/year (exchange rates are $1=3.5NIS).

BSF hopes this will motivate you to submit a proposal to the numerous joint programs we offer in collaboration with the NSF (the list can be found at: https://www.bsf.org.il/funding-opportunities/nsf-bsf-joint-research-grants/the-programs/).
