ERC Work Programme 2026 Adopted + webinar
ERC Work Programme 2026 Adopted The European Commission has adopted the ERC Work Programme 2026, setting out upcoming grant opportunities, budgets, competition timelines, and eligibility rules. Several updates will apply to ERC grant applications starting in 2026, with more changes expected in 2027. Key changes include a new two-part proposal format, with a concise five-page scientific overview (Part I) and a detailed implementation plan (Part II). Feasibility will now only be assessed at Step 2 of evaluation. Applicants outside Europe can request up to €2 million in additional funding, now also covering personnel costs. Eligibility extensions for Starting and Consolidator Grants have been broadened to include gender-based violence and expanded parental leave definitions.
