FIRST APPLICATIONS OF SPINTRONICS CROSSBAR IN ENERGY HARVESTING

MultiSpin.AI Online workshop with Pietro Perlo (I-FEVS)

Date: Monday, 18 May

Time: 14:00 CET – 15:00 IST

Format: Online

Speaker: Pietro Perlo, I-FEVS

This approach is particularly relevant for future Edge AI systems. Robots, photovoltaic modules, batteries, actuators and autonomous IoT nodes often require immediate local responses to events such as overheating, low energy levels, shading or operational mismatch. In these cases, simple reflex-like decision intelligence placed close to sensors and actuators can help reduce computation, energy consumption and delay.

During the workshop, participants will gain insights into how binary spintronic crossbars can be understood not only as memory or AI acceleration elements, but also as a potential physical reflex fabric for safety-critical and energy-related edge systems.

The event is open to universities, research organisations, European stakeholders, companies working in energy and environmental technologies, and professionals interested in Edge AI applications.

The MultiSpin.AI consortium warmly invites interested participants to join this first workshop and explore how spintronics may contribute to the next generation of energy-efficient intelligent systems.

Are you a researcher looking to tap into EU funding?

Join our monthly Open Morning to:

  • Learn about Horizon Europe, ERC, Marie Skłodowska-Curie, and other programs
  • Get expert tips on proposal writing and partner search
  • Connect with support staff

In the last open morning session, we had researchers from the area of public health and health impact attending, but also from the area of geology, archaeology and environmental impact - it is impressive to see how many ideas for collaborations can come from such completely different topics! We discussed options and opportunities within Horizon Europe and how to get there, and we hope to see them again soon to prepare proposals together.

The next session will take place on Tuesday 19 May – come by to find out more about opportunities in your area!
