Establish an Award
The Research Authority must examine the grant contract to ensure that the grant terms are consistent with the fiscal, legal and university policies and procedures. If necessary, the Research Authority will negotiate the terms of the grant and ask for confirmation of the expenses before the grant is given. Once confirmation is received that the grant meets the criteria for the adequacy of research and financial management, the Authority will open a research account for you.
Here are the steps required to create your research account:
• After receiving the research contract from the fund, the research team will review its legal propriety
• If necessary, the team will negotiate with the financing entity before being invited to sign the contract and agree to its terms
• The head of the Research Authority will also sign the contract
Upon signing the agreement, the Research Authority team will determine for you a file number for an internal budget.
