Israel Science Foundation (ISF)
The ISF (Israel Science Foundation) is Israel's premier funding source for supporting cutting edge basic research in Israel.
The ISF accepts grant applications in ALL disciplines in the sciences and the humanities.
The fund’s "bread and butter" grant program, Individual Research Grants, runs annually and is open for all research fields. The submission deadline is early November.
In addition, the fund runs various programs such as: BRG- Breakthrough Research Grants, Mavri- Biomedical Research Grants, cooperation programs with Switzerland and Germany, Beresheet- Absorbing Outstanding Young Researchers, workshops for active ISF grants, New-Faculty Equipment Grants, Mid-Career Equipment Grants and more
Applicants are eligible to submit a proposal to only one research program per annual submission cycle. Applicants holding an active grant must refer to the eligibility chart to verify their eligibility for applying to other programs.
