  • What is the process of reporting a discovery?

    An invention of university employees is considered a Service Invention and the intellectual property of university researchers and employees belongs to the university, according to the university's procedures and according to the patent and invention regulations. The researchers are rewarded for their part in developing the invention in accordance with patent regulations. In accordance with the terms of the various funding bodies, there are cases in which the researchers and the university are obliged to report a discovery to the fund. Therefore, the researchers must fill out a Discovery Notice Form and declare to the Committee of Discoveries about the invention. The Discovery Notice Form is online to simplify the reporting process.

    The Research Authority has extensive experience in adapting research grants to research areas.   • Is a principal investigator authorized to sign a contract in behalf of Bar-Ilan University?

    No. Each grant contract is negotiated and executed between the funding organization and the Research Authority on behalf of Bar-Ilan University. The Research Authority requires the signatures of the principal investigators for approval of the terms of the grant ("Principal Investigator's Agreement to the terms of the research agreement / contract").
